A space where you don't have to explain yourself.

Hi, I'm Bobby, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC Associate) in Texas. I work with LGBTQ+ people who want real therapy without having to spend the session explaining their life to someone who's never had to think about it.

I get that the challenges queer folks face around identity, anxiety, relationships, and belonging don't exist in a vacuum. They exist in a state that hasn't always made it easy to just be yourself.

My practice is fully virtual, so I can work with queer people anywhere in Texas, including smaller towns where affirming care can be genuinely hard to find.

Specialties

Every person's experience is different. Here are the areas I focus on, though this is never an exhaustive list.

Identity & Coming Out

Figuring out who you are, or coming out to the people around you, is some of the most personal work there is. Whether you're early in that process or somewhere in the middle of it, I'm here to think it through with you at whatever pace feels right. No agenda, no timeline.

Anxiety & Depression

Queer people experience anxiety and depression at higher rates, and a lot of that comes from living in a world that wasn't built with us in mind. In therapy we can look at where those feelings are coming from and start to build some real tools for getting through them.

Relationships & Dating

Queer relationships deserve support that actually fits them. Whether you're navigating a new relationship, working through conflict, exploring non-monogamy, or still figuring out what you want, I'm not going to try to fit your life into a heteronormative box.

My Approach

My foundation is person-centered therapy. That means I trust you already have what you need. My job isn't to fix you or hand you a script. It's to create enough safety and trust that you can actually hear yourself think. You set the pace. I follow your lead and ask questions that hopefully get you somewhere useful.

I also bring in narrative therapy, which is really about stories. The stories we tell about ourselves, the ones handed to us by family or culture or a world that didn't fully see us, and the ones we're still writing. A lot of people come to therapy carrying a story that someone else wrote for them. Narrative work is about finding the parts that actually belong to you.

For queer clients, that often means separating out the noise of what you've been told about who you are from what's actually true for you. Your identity is never the problem we're solving. It's where we start.
